Audio commentary
I have been working for talkSPORT since the start of the 2019/20 football season and one of my roles is the production and delivery of a Saturday afternoon football round-up, which is broadcast at half time during the live commentary of the 5.30 kick-off on the station’s ‘GameDay’ coverage.
A producer and reader of news and sport bulletins, I was also the station’s interviewer and reporter at the Team GB Ball in London in November 2019.
For talkSPORT and talkSPORT2, I have commentated live on the PDC World Darts Championship since the 2019/20 edition of the tournament, including the 2020 final between Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen.
Another highlight was commentating on James Wade’s perfect nine-dart leg in his 4-2 defeat by Stephen Bunting in the third round of the 2021 tournament.
Working on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday and being part of what is, for thousands of football fans, a Saturday afternoon institution is not only a genuine privilege but it really honed my skills in terms of delivery and timing.
As well as providing live goal updates from matches in the Football League, I also conducted post-match interviews with managers and players.
I have covered Premier League football for Sky News Radio, Independent Radio News (IRN) and Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ).
With an emphasis on quick and colourful live updates, I have an ability to provide a succinct, considered match report to time, whether it’s in the aftermath of an uneventful goalless draw or a nine-goal thriller.
Tennis is my big passion and I love covering the grass-court season during June and July.
As a reporter at The Queen’s Club, I provided regular updates for the BBC, LBC, talkSPORT and independent radio stations in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
I have also interviewed some of the world’s leading players at the WTA tournaments at Birmingham, Nottingham and Eastbourne, including Angelique Kerber, Petra Kvitova and Agnieszka Radwańska.
