I am a scriptwriter, producer and broadcaster of news bulletins for the Wireless Group within News UK, covering Times Radio, talkSPORT and Virgin Radio.
Times Radio - a joint venture between the Times, the Sunday Times and Wireless Group - was launched on June 29, 2020 as a national digital news radio station broadcast on DAB, online and via app and smart speakers.
I have been involved with Times Radio’s news team since the station’s launch, working alongside award-winning broadcasters including Aasmah Mir, John Pienaar, Mariella Frostrup, Carole Walker and Michael Portillo.
Attached is my 3pm bulletin on September 14, 2022, shortly after the procession of Queen Elizabeth II's coffin to Westminster Hall.
Times Radio broadcasts live programmes day and night, delivering intelligent, informed news coverage and bringing together the journalistic expertise of The Times and The Sunday Times, allowing us to respond to breaking national and international news events.
Times Radio attracted a record audience at the start of 2022 as listeners tuned in for updates on the war in Ukraine and the Downing Street parties scandal.
The number of listeners to the station in the three months to April 3, 2022 showed an increase of 40 per cent compared with the previous quarter.
My role provides a regular opportunity to demonstrate my wider understanding of the political issues in sport for a dedicated segment in Times Radio’s Early Breakfast programme.
In September 2021, I joined the programme's host Calum Macdonald to highlight why the story of Champions League debutants Sheriff Tiraspol beating Real Madrid was not the purest footballing fairytale.
With host Anna Cunningham on Times Radio Early Breakfast on May 20, 2022 for a round-up of the morning's sport, including a review of the previous night's Premier League football, news of the opening round at golf's US PGA Championship in Oklahoma, and details of the draw for the French Open tennis.
My role also covers the provision of hourly news bulletins for The Graham Norton Radio Show for Virgin Radio, including his debut appearance on the weekend of 9-10 January, 2021.
